Teej Festival: It’s Time For Mehandi or Heena Tattoo

Happy Teej Ladies!!!

Most of you must know about this festival and ones who don’t know, I am going to surely tell them about  it. A beautiful festival which comes in “Saavan” (monsoon), a month in Hindu Calender, this is primarily dedicated to reunion of Goddess Parvati and lord Shiva.

The festival of Teej is marked by fasting of women who pray to goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva to seek their blessing for marital life. The craze of this festival is also seen a lot in unmarried girls. (They also want good Marital Life…He he he)

The day is fully dedicated to women, we wear new clothes, sing folk songs, enjoy the monsoon swings, enjoy good food etc etc. This Teej, I am at home and let me tell you that my mom always wants me to look the prettiest on this day. Yesterday I got so many presents from her, she braided my hair and today we applied mehandi on our hands. Let me show you the design of mehandi or heena on my hands.
